The shortlist by research task
There is no measured first-to-fourth ranking here. I reviewed official product and pricing information on October 16, 2026; I did not run a paid-account coverage or speed benchmark. The recommendations describe task fit, and the free option is a legitimate starting point.
| Tool | Start here when | Public monthly price | Main compromise |
|---|---|---|---|
| WinningHunter | You follow ads into products and stores repeatedly | $49 Basic / $79 Standard / $249 Enterprise | Required ad channels and tracking capacity depend on tier |
| PipiAds | TikTok creative and advertiser research drives the brief | $49 Basic / $99 Advanced / $900 Enterprise | Credit consumption matters, especially for detail views |
| Minea | Meta-led discovery and brand research need AI assistance | $49 Starter / $99 Premium / $199 Business | Confirm non-Meta availability; some channels are labeled coming soon |
| Meta Ad Library | You have a public advertiser or keyword to inspect | Free public library | Manual organization; no general competitor profit record |
USD public monthly amounts checked October 16, 2026. PipiAds displayed promotional monthly prices; checkout, taxes and renewal terms may differ. Annual equivalents are not substituted for monthly prices.
How I would choose: five purchase checks
First, identify the starting entity: an advertiser, a product, a store or an unfamiliar category. Second, specify the channel and country. Third, decide which output matters: a creative brief, a competitor watchlist or a product shortlist. These choices narrow the tools more effectively than the size of a marketing database claim.
Fourth, inspect the resource limit that your work consumes: ad detail credits, brand slots, store tracking or AI allowances. Fifth, check whether a missing result can be diagnosed. I would prefer a clear coverage boundary to a confident dashboard that gives no explanation of what it misses.
I would not pick a tool because an estimated sales figure is large or because an ad has remained visible. Those observations justify investigation; neither tells you the merchant's profit, the supplier's quality or whether your offer can compete.
WinningHunter: ad-to-store product research
WinningHunter is my starting shortlist choice when a creative angle needs to become a product and competitor brief. Its public offering connects advertising research, store tracking and product discovery, rather than making the researcher stop at an isolated creative example.
Basic is listed at $49 per month with Facebook ads, TikTok Shop, 25 stores and two brands. Standard at $79 lists Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest ads plus 30 brands; Enterprise at $249 lists 300 brands and additional support. TikTok Shop access and TikTok ad research are different capabilities, so check the channel line rather than assuming the brand name covers both.
The compromise is plan fit and unverified niche coverage. I would first search a known advertiser and product, then check the destination manually. The official page advertises quarterly and annual savings, but I would validate the workflow before accepting the longer commitment.
PipiAds: TikTok creative investigation
I would shortlist PipiAds when a researcher spends most of the brief studying TikTok creatives, hooks and advertiser patterns. Its public pricing material also references Facebook and TikTok Shop, so TikTok is a use-case emphasis rather than a claim that no other channel exists.
The rendered monthly pricing selector showed Basic $49, Advanced $99 and Enterprise $900 on October 16. The corresponding allowances were 30,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 credits. Public instructions say a list-result record costs one credit and a detail view costs 20; evaluate that consumption against the number of records you actually need to open.
The compromise is that extensive browsing can consume credits without producing a better brief. I would test a narrow advertiser set and record useful details retrieved, rather than compare subscription cost alone. Separate annual promotions and flexible plans have their own conditions; do not apply another vendor's discount rate.
Minea: Meta-led discovery and brand research
Minea's current pricing page lists Meta ads, products, shops, brand tracking, AI analysis, transcripts and Magic Search. I would shortlist it when organizing product discovery and interpreting creative patterns inside a Meta-led brief is the task, then confirm which AI allowances the proposed plan includes.
Monthly Starter, Premium and Business amounts are $49, $99 and $199. The page separately shows quarterly monthly equivalents of $39, $79 and $158. Starter lists ten AI analyses and ten transcripts per month, Premium lists 50 of each, and Business lists unlimited. Those allowances are more concrete purchase inputs than a generic claim of AI-powered research.
The important limitation is channel certainty. Some non-Meta channel copy on the pricing page is marked coming soon. I would not buy for TikTok, Pinterest or Snapchat based only on broad marketing; obtain confirmation that the required channel is available in the account and plan today.
Meta Ad Library: the free first check
Meta's public library lets you investigate ads by keyword or advertiser and choose a country and ad category. I would use it first for a known Facebook or Instagram advertiser, occasional competitive checks, and verifying that a saved creative matches the current public record.
The general active-ad library and special transparency archives have different coverage. Do not assume the political-ad spending reports or regional transparency fields are available for every ordinary ecommerce ad. Public visibility is not access to a competitor's purchases, attribution or ROAS.
The compromise is manual organization. Save the source, date, destination and your interpretation in a research log. If that is enough for a handful of decisions, there is no need to purchase a paid database just to begin.
Avoid paying twice for the same brief
For occasional Meta research, start free. For frequent ad-to-store work, I would test WinningHunter. For a TikTok-heavy creative desk, I would test PipiAds. For Meta-led discovery with AI-assisted analysis, include Minea in the trial shortlist. These are role assignments, not independently measured winners.
Estimate your weekly detail views, tracked entities and collaborators before comparing bills. A lower entry price can require a higher tier for the necessary channel or an extra subscription for a missing task. Conversely, a team may need fewer features than it expects once the brief is narrowed.
Keep one primary tool until you can name the output a second one adds. For known-store or fixed-brand monitoring, inspect ShopHunter or TrendTrack separately rather than force those routines into an ad-discovery purchase.
Final shortlist
Start with the free library and one real question. My paid shortlist begins with WinningHunter for recurring ad-to-store product research, PipiAds for TikTok creative work, or Minea for Meta-led discovery. Keep the tool only when its coverage and allowances improve the resulting brief; no subscription replaces margin, supplier and fulfillment validation.
Questions to settle before acting
Meta Ad Library is a useful free starting point for public Meta advertiser and keyword checks. It requires manual organization and does not reveal general competitor sales or profitability.
I would shortlist WinningHunter for recurring ad-to-store investigation, then check the channel tier and known-entity coverage before paying. A TikTok creative-first brief may instead favor a PipiAds evaluation.

Evidence and Official Sources
These records separate public evidence, vendor statements, live checks and editorial interpretation. Dates show when I last checked each source.
Vendor-stated
The paid shortlist is based on official product and pricing descriptions, with Meta Ad Library as the free public option.
Boundary: Tool coverage and historical depth can vary by channel and plan.
Sources: WinningHunter official site, PipiAds official monthly and annual pricing, Minea official pricing, Meta Ad Library
Editorial interpretation
Ad research can reveal patterns but cannot confirm profitable spend or future performance.
Boundary: Profitability requires first-party cost, conversion, margin and return data.
